beer, sort of

Dear Batty,

Did you really think American beer couldn't get any worse? Let me be the one to introduce you to Budweiser Extra, the new Extreme Beer, fortified with caffeine, ginseng, guarana (whatever that is) and "natural flavors."

I kid you not. Really.

I was aghast when I saw this advertised on a billboard (hoarding? Or is that Britspeek?) in town. But on second thought, it makes quite a bit of sense. Bilgewater always tasted like some kind of medicine anyway, so.. why not?

Edit: Budweiser advertises itself, of course, as The King of Beers. It occurs to me that I should investigate whether it existed before the Revolution. If so, it would probably explain why the US Constitution bans royalty, titles of nobility, and all that stuff.

That's not beer, that's an alcoholic energy drink.

*chuckle* Which is why I don't drink beer over here in my home country. I've had the real stuff. (Though in all honesty I prefer pub cider....)
