Just got back home after a trip to da U.P, eh? Had to check on the family's cottage up there- all is well.

I saw my first Border Patrol vehicle on the way back. Then, when I got home, I had a message on my cell phone from The Folks. All in a tizzy because somebody bought eighty cell phones at the Wal-Mart in Caro and was supposedly going to blow up the Mackinaw Bridge with them. (If you're saying "Huh?" at this moment, I am too.)

So continues the Wah on Terra, I guess. Sheesh.

Why do I get the sinking feeling that when I head home next week something will have happened to get the border all futzed up?

Are the cats little butterballs yet? Last time I was gone this long they filled their longing for skritches and yelps of "Shadow! Quit grabbing my BUTT!" with food.

Between the real threats and panic, yeah, it seems likely. Bring a book for the wait at the border.

The cats are kind of heavy, yeah. Of course when I disappeared for the weekend, the food took a serious hit. I don't know whether it's boredom, or whether they figure they'd better eat up before the others do- in case I'm not back to fill the food dish right away.

I shall prepare to be knocked off my feet by enthusiastic and chubby kitties then. :) So far still on track for a late on the 23rd/early on the 24th return. Even though they didn't have any results at the post op appointment on whether or not the cancer had spread (allow me to *gnarrgnarrGROWL* over U-Mass medical being SLOW with test results.)
