Stolen from Athelind and Jirris. A meme about me. Whee.
1) Using your Current Initials, choose a different name for yourself.
Ward Janus Relslier. I am as horrible with names as you'd expect of someone who, as a kid, named his teddy bear Teddy. The above name means nothing, as far as I know.
2) If you were born outside of your era, when would you want to be born and why?
The future, after they figure out how to back you up onto a computer system. Computer adventure games when you are part of the computer would be a good passtime in the afterlife, no?
3) If you ran a store, what would you sell/have?
Radios, firearms, telescopes, fountain pens, watches, and good whiskey.
4)What part in a movie would you love to play?
Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Destry, Jr.
5) In your opinion, why do people suck?
So many reasons, so little time! Because they don't give a damn about hurting other people as long as they'll get something out of it. Because they're hurt and angry. Because they're just plain crazy. Because they know the right thing to do, but the right thing takes too much work.
6) If you had your own state, what would you put on your new quarter?
I have no idea. Perhaps Rutan's Space Ship One with the moon as a background and the motto "Why Not?"
7) Whats the oldest article of clothing you own?
A pair of dress shoes I've worn about once.
8) What piece of furniture have you replaced the most?
Bookshelves. More added to than replaced, but replaced too.
9) What instrument do you wish you could be more than great at?
Harmonica, oddly enough.
10) Record, Tape or CD?
CD.
11) What do you think would be the best concert ever? (max: 4 bands)
Moody Blues, Cowboy Junkies, Clannad, and the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.
12) What's the best part of your favorite movie?
All these worlds are yours...
13) What do you think is the most over-rated candy ever?
Circus peanuts. People, this is not a food.
14) If you were writing out your will, who would you give your CD collection to?
Teph, I suppose, if she wanted it.
15) If you could only debate two topics the rest of your life, what would they be?
History and gadgetry.
16) Out of your friends, who would you say you are most jealous of, artistically?
I have at least three great artists as friends, and won't name one over the others.
17) Most jealous of....intellectually?
Tephra.
18) What do you collect?
Radios and fountain pens.
19) What is broken that you have, that you wish was fixed?
My 1960 Zenith Transoceanic B600.
20) What do you do when you're home sick?
Sleep.
21) Why does this survey rock?
A little presumptions, aren't we?
22) Story behind your username?
Long and boring.
When I first went online, I didn't know my character's name. Which turns out to be because his kind has no spoken language. I was building a model airplane at the time, a Douglas A-20G Havoc. I thought Havoc was a good enough name, and was naive enough to think nobody else would use it.
Finding Havoc taken here and in other places, I migrated to Hafoc, which turned out to be a Middle English root word for Hawk. I kind of like that.
23) Current Favorite Article of Clothing?
Carpenter's jeans. Tough! Comfy! Pockets for my gadgets!.
24) Line from the last thing you wrote for someone?
He sat in his chair and looked into his stove, watching empires rise to glory and crumble away again in its flames.
25) A famous person you have met?
Harrison "Jack" Schmidt.
26) Favorite way to waste time?
Work. (Not that I actually LIKE it, but...)
27) Last thing you bought yourself?
50 rounds .38 Super.
