Feb. 22nd, 2005 05:42 pmDagnappit! I'm going stir-crazy in here. I don't know if I can stand hanging around the house much longer. And yet... well, while I do feel better, walking out to the mailbox is about the limit of my strength today. I can't even consider staying out there in the cold to shovel out the mailbox, in spite of our "faithful" letter carrier refusing to put mail in it because she'd have to lean out the window of her car to reach it.
I took my temperature and found it's running about two degrees BELOW normal, whatever that means.
In other news, one or another of the Feline Contingent has discovered that toilet paper is a fun toy. I was afraid that would happen eventually. Apparently my putting the roll on backward (with the paper peeling off at the back of the roll) only made grabbing it and trailing it out to the hallway more of a puzzle. And the kittens, especially, love puzzles.
I suspect Shadow. She's the one who likes to drag things around. Her favorite toy is a fuzzy shoelace I pulled out of one of my boots and gave to her; it shows up EVERYWHERE. The other day she noticed the drawSTRING on the bag of oranges, jumped on the counter, and tried to drag the whole bag away. Etc etc etc. On the other hand, Patches found a little scrap of Scott's Finest on the bathroom floor and ATE it. So maybe it's kitty potato chips or something.
Either way, it's a development with frightful implications.

Date: 2005-02-23 07:19 am (UTC)That's a low-grade fever. It's still a fever, just working in reverse. I had the same thing and it's been around a lot lately. Almost everyone in my family has had it, and many people I've seen on the net.
You may want to call your doctor if you haven't yet, especially if you're having lots of congestion and such. It seems to be a serious sinus infection of some sort, meaning something in the air is doing it. What is beyond me, maybe it's the side effect of the government inoculating us against possible terrorist bio-warfare. *puts on his tinfoil hat*
Anyway, hope you get well soon. It's been a few weeks and I'm still getting over mine, though the worst went away after a week or so.
