...moral paragon, advisor to presidents, man of God...

This is the fellow who has created an international incident by calling for the assasination of the President of Venezuela, on nation-wide TV no less. Mr. Chavez seems a bit upset about one of W's best buddies calling for his Termination with Extreme Prejudice. Geez, I can't see why.. it's not like the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave would do something so unfriendly as to go knock over the head of state of a South American government...

It's enough to make you wish that the Founding Fathers had put a clause about "except for fools and scoundrels" in the First Amendment.

The reason so many Americans hate freedom and work so hard to destroy it is that freedom is other people's right to do stuff you don't like. Freedom to vote means my freedom to choose somebody you can't stand. Or the right of a Venezuelan citizen to vote for somebody I can't stand. The danger that somebody won't vote the "right way" is inherent in democracy. If W's statements about bringing democracy to the world were more than just a scam, he'd have to respect that.

As for Mr. Robertson.. even I, conservative ** as I am on most things, can recognize a member of the Religious Reich when I smell one. It should be no surprise that such as he opposes freedom in any form.

** That's classic conservative-- govern when necessary but only when necessary, be frugal with tax money, keep your nose out of peoples' business and they keep theirs out of yours, build a strong military but don't use it unless you must. None of this non-conservative "neocon" crap.
