OK, I'll bite
Oct. 14th, 2004 06:24 pmA book you own that nobody else on your friends list does: De Re Metallica, by Georgius Agricola, translated by Herbert Clark Hoover and Lou Henry Hoover. (Yes, he was THAT Herbert Hoover.)
A CD you own that nobody else on your friends list does: Growing Up Simple by Jenny Mahan.
A DVD/VHS you own that nobody else on your friends list does: I have nothing really exotic, but I'd guess the best bet is The Red Tent, with Sean Connery as The Ghost of Roald Amundsen.
A place you've been that none of your friends have: Mason City, Iowa. On a road trip long ago, I drove from my then-home in Mason, Michigan (another good choice for "nobody's been there") to Mason City in one day. It wasn't until much later I found out that Mason City was the town from which the airplane carrying Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper took off on its way to the crash that killed them, on "the day the music died."
