Well, why not? If I didn't do this I'd just go to bed.

1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:

ahead * adv. 1. further foreward in space or

2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?

Nothing, but if I reach left and back I touch the purple sketchbook Quel gave me, resting on my dinner table.

3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?

Something or other about books which weren't included in the Bible.

4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is:

10:45 pm

5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?

10:47 pm

6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?

Country music (WSM, Nashville) on AM with interference: wall clock ticking

7: When did you last step outside?

6:00 PM

8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at?

My email

9: What are you wearing?

Jogging shorts and a tee-shirt

10: Did you dream last night?

Yes, but it was formless chaos.

11: When did you last laugh?

This evening at some thought that struck me watching TV. I forget what.

12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?

98 linear feet of bookshelves, with books, photos, statuettes, plushies, and a Grundig Satellit 800 receiver; 10 linear feet of light-duty shelves with plushies, computer supplies, and miscellaneous debris; one electric illuminated Sinclair dinosaur advertising clock; four waterfowl hunting prints my dad had; one landscape print I bought in Prescott, Arizona, of rocks and water near there; one calendar; more photos; a fireplace; a 31-day wind-up wall clock; and a lot of brown paneling in poor shape.

13: Seen anything weird lately?

Looked in the mirror this morning. I suppose the article Denwhitton put a pointer to, about the Belgian gentleman who got a speeding ticket for driving at Mach 3 in his Mini Cooper, was a bit weird, looked at properly.

14: What do you think of this quiz?

If I thought, I probably wouldn't have done it. :)

15: What is the last film you saw?

In theater, probably Return of the King. The last one I watched all the way through on TV was probably What Dreams May Come

16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?

All the work on this house which, otherwise, will be hanging over my head for the rest of my life.

17: Tell me something about you that I don't know

I have TWICE burned my right hand by carrying burning objects from where they threatened to set buildings on fire to places I could safely drop them; once a house, once a university geochemistry lab.

18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?

Set up a top-secret Evil Overlord organization dedicated to ruthlessly assasinating anyone who was asshole enough, regardless of that person's politics, nationality, race, criminal guilt or innocence, gender, or religion. And that person's lawyers, too, if any.

19: Do you like to dance?

No; I find anything that exposes my physical deformaties to others in such a fashion to be too humiliating to bear.

20: Imagine your first child is a girl; what do you call her?

Caroline. An innocuous name, that's about the best you can ask from a name.

22: Imagine your first child is a boy; what do you call him?

Something simple and innocuous the poor kid wouldn't be teased about, perhaps John or Thomas.

23: Would you ever consider living abroad?

No.

24: Will you pass on this survey?

No, I don't email surveys and such.
